Customer feedback is most useful when people can describe their own experience in their own words. A clear invitation helps customers understand what you are asking for without steering their response.

Ask after a real interaction

Choose a natural moment after a customer has used your product or service. Explain why their perspective is useful, and make it clear that an honest response is welcome.

Keep the request neutral

Share a direct link and ask for feedback, not a particular rating. Do not offer a reward in exchange for a positive review or ask customers to change a response to improve an average.

Make privacy expectations clear

Tell customers where their response may appear and avoid including personal or sensitive information in a public reply. Follow the privacy and review policies that apply to your business.

Respond with care

Thank people for taking the time to respond. If someone describes a problem, acknowledge what they said and offer an appropriate next step without making promises you cannot keep.
